A husband-and-wife production company in Fort Collins.
Playhaus is Jack and Robyn Krause. We make live theatre, interactive murder mysteries, and audio / video work.
We started it because the work we wanted to make wasn’t getting made here: theatre that breaks the fourth wall on purpose, mysteries where the audience does real detective work, films that take their look seriously.
The name is a wink. A “playhouse” is a theatre. A “haus” is the Bauhaus, where design and craft and storytelling were treated as the same job.
In practice that means the fourth wall is there to be walked through, how a thing looks is part of what it says, and we cast and hire locally. Northern Colorado is home.
Jack Krause
Tech & stage
Tech director and stage manager. Handles the boards, the logistics, and the part of production where things have to actually work. Also acting president of Bas Bleu Theatre Company.
Robyn Krause
Director & host
Director and on-stage host. Shapes the room, runs the cast, and is usually the voice you hear when you walk through the door at a Playhaus event.
